Canadians Need Passport When Flying to US
Starting on January 23, 2007 Canadians will need a valid passport when entering or travelling through the United States by air. Canadians without the right paperwork may be sent to a secondary screening by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and might be prevented from boarding their flight.
For land travel, Canadians won't officially need a passport until as early as 2008. However, the Canadian government recommends that all Canadians carry a valid passport when travelling to the US.
Canadians without passports can still travel by air to the US as long as they have a NEXUS Air card when used at a NEXUS Air kiosk.
